The Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO) and the Basic Needs Coalition of Central Texas (BNC) are co-hosting Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week: Listen. Learn. Lend a Hand, a week of events designed to educate the Austin community on the root causes of hunger and homelessness in Central Texas. This week of events will be held Friday, November 11 through Saturday, November 19, 2011.
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is the largest annual event that connects policy makers, local business leaders, service providers, faith based organizations, and community members to engage in implementing active solutions and prevention methods for hunger and homelessness in Central Texas. Featured events include the Homeless Resource Fair on Saturday, November 5th, the House the Homeless Memorial Sunrise Service on Sunday, November 13th on Town Lake, the Awareness Austin Networking Happy Hour on Thursday, November 17th at Molotov Lounge, and a Family Festival on Saturday, November 19th.
